What Now?!!

I would hope that no one was so preoccupied with capturing Osama Bin Laden that they now have no special interests and are unmotivated.I can imagine, and understand, how people, especially those who lost loved ones on 911, could have been consumed with this man. Yet the danger is, now that it's over, it could be hard to move on. Think about it. You can wish for something so hard that when you get it, then what? The dog chases the car, the car stops, the dog catches it...then what? Be careful not to become a victim yourself by holding on to negativity or by having nothing more to aspire to, once your main goal has been reached. That is the reason why we need to be motivating ourselves on a regular basis, having more than one goal.Motivating ourselves? Yes!!In many ways. Have you ever heard the phrase,"An idle mind is the devil's workshop"? What that means to me is this."If you don't keep yourself busy doing, or thinking positively, there is a chance that you could get bored and the enemy steps in with an assignment."I wonder what my husband(or wife )is doing right now?Why were they so happy calling from work?...Must be something going on".Many times boredom can be avoided by doing things that you are interested in.If you don't have any known interests, then look deep within yourself and find something that you really like. If you look hard enough, you'll probably find something. When you do,try to make sure that it's something that gives you a feeling of accomplishment. It doesn't always have to be about you. Learn to delight in other peoples' happiness. You may ,or may not, know the satisfaction of making someone else truly happy.Better yet, it sometimes only takes a compliment or a kind word. What have you to lose by saying a kind word or smiling?Quite to the contrary, you have much to gain.Live a little..live a lot. Life is better that way. That really is what it's for, you know...living.

Getting Our Attention

I truly believe that most of the catastrophes striking in many parts of the world lately, are a warning from God that it is time to make changes in how we are living. We, as a world, have become cold in the ways that we treat our fellow human beings. Used to be that the males of the world were the primary perpetrators of evil and violence, but females are becoming just as callous. I wonder if you've noticed the frequency with which you hear scientists and people who study weather and geological patterns use the terms"unprecedented", "never to this extent", and "worst in recorded history" to describe events like tsunamis, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, lightning strikes, and floods. Skeptics will often say, "Oh these things come in cycles anyway." Well if that is so the cycles are coming closer together and the intensity is increasing. Just the fact that so many of these phenomenal events are taking place at the same time, should make us wonder what is going on.Really, only God knows. Let me establish the fact that I am a Bible-believing, God- fearing Christian, and my views are going to reflect that.At the same time, I am purposely not a self-imposing, all knowing, beating you over the head with the Bible type of person. If you have a desire to know the truth ,we can try to get there together by exchanging ideas and things that we have actually learned. On the other hand, if you are a person looking to debate the true existence of God or the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus, then this is not the place for you. However, if you wonder how to get to know them, that is a different story. You see, being curious  and being adamant, are two very different views. After reading this, if you have any questions, queries, or things that you would like to add to this please feel free to do so. I believe that Heaven is a wonderful place to be and I would like to make the journey with as many people as possible. Please don't write to me about how the journey is individual for each of us. I already know that. The journey that I am referring to, is the preparations for getting there. In other words let's start preparing together. That way, we can help to hold each other accountable. And believe it, one day,we'll all have to be accountable. This is a link to a song and accompanying video that I recently recorded. "More Love"   Some of the other songs on YouTube were recorded when I was still singing secular music,so please be advised of that, although you won't find anything vulgar or distasteful.

Whose Kids Are These Anyway?

The answer is,"ours".They're our children and although we feel that we've done the very best that we could to bring them up right,we really haven't, in a lot of cases. The 1950's being a postwar era, was filled with freedoms that were unheard of, until that point in history. In my opinion, that is where the breakdown started. The partying, the loose morals, the adultery, the drinking and drugs.During the 60's(my teenage and young adult years)this behavior only intensified. Please don't misunderstand me, I know that I played a role in this myself. What I'm saying is, it's time to stop standing with our mouths and eyes open, in shock and amazement, at how our young people have, to a large degree, degenerated, and start to come up with some concrete solutions on how to start turning things around. I say start because this didn't happen overnight and it's not going to be solved that way either. I invite your input.
