The answer is,"ours".They're our children and although we feel that we've done the very best that we could to bring them up right,we really haven't, in a lot of cases. The 1950's being a postwar era, was filled with freedoms that were unheard of, until that point in history. In my opinion, that is where the breakdown started. The partying, the loose morals, the adultery, the drinking and drugs.During the 60's(my teenage and young adult years)this behavior only intensified. Please don't misunderstand me, I know that I played a role in this myself. What I'm saying is, it's time to stop standing with our mouths and eyes open, in shock and amazement, at how our young people have, to a large degree, degenerated, and start to come up with some concrete solutions on how to start turning things around. I say start because this didn't happen overnight and it's not going to be solved that way either. I invite your input.

Whose Kids Are These Anyway?

You have admitted to playing a part in the degeneration of this generation, and so have I.
ReplyDeleteBelieving that this is the first step, I would now like to move on to ways that we may do something different to make these much needed changes for OUR CHILDREN. (I do not choose to use the word kids, for that has sadly come to fruition.) Since you have said it will take time, I suppose that spending time with our young people could bring about a change, one person at a time...kind of an "Each One Teach One" approach. Maybe an hour a week, interacting with one another. Who knows if that one hour could change one life?
I'd like to try.
Congratulations and I applaud you for your commitment.
